    Arvind Raman is the Robert V. Adams Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Executive Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff in the College of Engineering at Purdue University.     A globally renowned academician, Shankar is the former Dean of Engineering, Professor of EECS, BioE & MechE and Director of the Blum Center for Developing Economies, UC Berkeley. He was also Director, Information Technology Office at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, USA (DARPA). He has been a member of the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board from 2002-5 and the Defense Science Board in 2008 among other national boards. He is currently on the corporate boards of C3-Carbon and HCL Technologies (India). He is on the Scientific Advisory Boards of Interwest LLC, GE Software, and Eriksholm. She has served as Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management at UC Santa Cruz for ten years working with administration and faculty to engage students, families, educators and communities in the college search process, providing information, resources, programs and services to help in the decision making and transition process. Her goal is to ensure students attend a campus that will support their success and help them realize their full potential, while at the same time helping to shape the enrollments of future alumni the campus desires.

    Professor Anthony Smith

    Professor Smith was appointed Vice-Provost (Education and Student Affairs) at University College London in 2012. Professor Smith takes the strategic lead for all matters related to education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and the wider student experience. In addition to leading the Office of the Vice Provost (Education and Student Affairs), he oversees Student and Registry Services, UCL Careers and UCL Culture. He also has responsibility for the Deans leading the faculties in the School of Laws, Arts and Humanities, and Social and Historical Sciences. Prior to his appointment at UCL he was Principal and Dean for six years of the School of Pharmacy, University of London. The School merged with UCL in January 2012. He was educated at the University of Bath where he obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy and PhD degrees. He is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. He is Chair of Trustees at Pharmacy Research-UK, Chair of Trustees at UCL Academy and a Governor of the Capital City Colleges Group. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

She is the proud recipient of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in recognition of her services to British education in an international context, becoming the only Indian serving Principal to receive this honor in 2014. Under her leadership, the British School New Delhi has won multiple prestigious awards including the TOP British International School of the Year in 2018. She is a recipient of the ‘Woman Achiever of the Year Award’ (2009).     Aryan D’Rozario is a very impressive fourth-year student pursuing a BA in Politics at the University of California, Santa Cruz. While at UC Santa Cruz, Aryan has taught the “Mock Trial Workshop,” a 2-unit class introducing students to the basic elements of the law and skills required for effective public speaking. He also serves as the Undergraduate Representative on the Committee on International Education (CIE), which advises the university administration on matters related to the welfare of international students and study abroad programs. Aryan also volunteers for the India Student Hub in Washington D.C. He has previously interned at the Washington D.C. office of a U.S. Congressman, the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, and at The Hindu Newspaper.

    Vineet is a Founder and Trustee of Ashoka University. Vineet was the Founding Pro Vice Chancellor of the University from 2014 to August, 2017. Vineet continues to play an active role to help build different aspects of the institution.     Dr. Adam Weinberg is President of Denison University and a thought leader in higher education. He joined Denison University in 2013 as its 20th president. At Denison, he has implemented programs and initiatives that deepen student learning and infuse a global experience throughout the campus. Dr. Weinberg previously served as President and CEO of World Learning, one of the premier international education, exchange and development organizations. World Learning works with young people from more than 140 countries, helping them develop the ability to address critical global issues. Previously as Vice President and Dean of the college at Colgate University, he was a member of the Sociology department for more than a decade, where he gained national prominence for his work on increasing the level of civic engagement at colleges and universities. He also founded a number of organizations, including the Center for Outreach, Volunteerism, and Education (COVE) and the Partnership for Community Development.

    Dr. Anunaya Chaubey is the Provost at Anant National University, India’s first Design University. He is a well-known artist and academic in the fields of literature and art history. A self-taught painter, his works explore the individual and communal worlds – mundane yet layered and subtly textured. Many of his paintings are to be found both in public and private collections all around the world. Over the past ten years, he has taught different courses on art appreciation, which gives an evolutionary account of arts. His courses have provided a converging ground for ideas and concerns drawn from multiple subject domains and disciplines. He has wide administrative experience in the education space and has contributed to several institution-building exercises in both India and abroad. In addition to serving at Anant National University, Dr. Chaubey has been the Principal of Art College at Patna University and the Deputy Dean of the post-graduate Young India Fellowship program at Ashoka University.

    Mr. Arjun Puri,

    Arjun Puri was born and raised in Kolkata and schooled at the prestigious La Martiniere for Boys, where he was appointed the 167th school captain in 2002-03. He graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2007 and worked with Merrill Lynch International Bank in London for close to five years, before realizing that it was not for him. He moved back to India in the fall of 2011 and joined ITC’s rural development and farmer empowerment programme where his research took him to the remotest parts of the country. Arjun then went on to join O.P. Jindal Global University in the capacity of Director of Admissions and Outreach. He spent a better part of 4 years on institution building for nation building and taught in the Jindal School of Liberal Arts and Humanities, where he focused on Food and Culture studies. Arjun is currently at one of the oldest residential schools in Asia, Woodstock School (Mussoorie), as the Director of Development. He launched his first book at the prestigious Jaipur Literature Festival in 2015 and with a book on food on its way, the road ahead is exciting. Arjun recently delivered his third TEDx Talk.

    Barry Craig,

    Dr. Barry Craig is the 17th President of Huron University. Established in 1863, Huron is the founding institution of Western University, located in Ontario, Canada. He holds a B.A. from the University of Kings College, an M.A. from Dalhousie University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wales. He has extensive experience in curriculum, program, and policy development and has published several books. He was co-chair of the Congress for the Humanities and Social Sciences in 2011 and has received numerous awards for both his teaching and his research. He has served on numerous government commissions and task forces and is the recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal. Dr. Craig’s new vision for Huron, Leadership with Heart, sets an exciting course for future growth and distinguishes Huron University from other Canadian universities.

    Brad MacKay is Professor of Strategy in the University of St Andrews School of Management. Formerly, he held a Chair in Strategic Management at the University of Edinburgh Business School, where he was also Director of Engagement on the Executive Team (2014-2016), Head of the Strategy and International Business Department (2011-2014), and Director of the MBA programs (2009-2011). He also held an ESRC (Economic and Social Research Council) Senior Fellowship in the Future of the UK and Scotland program (2013-2014). He earned a BA in International Development Studies from Dalhousie University, in Halifax, Canada, an MLitt (with Distinction) in Management, Economics and Politics (MEP) and a PhD in Strategy from the University of St Andrews, Scotland. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

    Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar was appointed as the Founding Vice Chancellor of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) in India at the age of 34 in 2009. Professor Kumar also serves as the Founding Dean of Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) and Director of the International Institute for Higher Education Research & Capacity Building (IIHEd).

    JGU has completed seven years and has grown into a multidisciplinary and research-oriented university with six different schools relating to law, business, international affairs, public policy, liberal arts & humanities and Journalism & Communication. JGU has acquired a stellar reputation in India and abroad for its effort to promoting excellence in teaching, research, capacity building and community service.     Professor Kumar has academic qualifications from the University of Oxford, Harvard University, University of Hong Kong, University of Delhi and Loyola College. He was a faculty member at the School of Law of City University of Hong Kong, where he taught for many years. He was a Rhodes Scholar at the University of Oxford, UK, where he obtained his Bachelor of Civil Law (B.C.L.) degree; a Landon Gammon Fellow at the Harvard Law School, USA, where he obtained his Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree and a James Souverine Gallo Memorial Scholar at the Harvard University. He was awarded the Doctor of Legal Science (S.J.D.) by the University of Hong Kong.     Kenneth G. Furton is Provost and Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Florida International University. He is a leading scholar in forensic chemistry, specializing in scent detection. Dr. Furton is the founder of FIU's International Forensic Research Institute (IFRI), which is globally recognized as one of the premier research and teaching institutes on forensic science. He served as the dean of FIU’s the College of Arts and Sciences for 7 years where he raised nearly $50 million in philanthropic gifts; and increased research grants funding, garnering $310 million in research awards. As provost, he has led the development and implementation of the universities ambitious strategic plan, FIUBeyondPossible2020. Where the university has experienced dramatic increases in student success and research preeminence measures.

    Dr. Furton earned a B.S. in Forensic Science at the University of Central Florida, a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at Wayne State University and completed post-doctoral studies in Nuclear Chemistry at the University of Wales, Swansea, and U.K. His expertise has led him to serve numerous professional organizations, including the National Academy of Sciences, the National Nuclear Security Administration and the Scientific Working Group on Dog and Orthogonal Detector Guidelines, which he chaired since its inception in 2004. He is currently chair of the Organization for Scientific Area Committees Dog and Sensor working group of the National Commission on Forensic Science and chair of the Academy Standards Board Dog and Sensors consensus body.

    Dr. Furton is the author or co-author of more than 800 publications and presentations, including 15 patents and 2 books. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. His research projects have been continuously funded for more than two decades, totaling more than $13 million in external funding. He has shared his expertise in forensic science through hundreds of invited talks nationally and internationally and has testified as an expert witness in dozens of state and federal trials.

    Dr. Furton is the proud father of twins, Robert and Courtney, who recently graduated from FIU.

    Pankaj Chandra,

    Professor Pankaj Chandra is the Vice Chancellor and Chairman, Board of Management of Ahmedabad University since October 2015. He was the Director of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2007-2013) and Professor of Operations & Technology Management at IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore. He holds a B.Tech. from the Banaras Hindu University and a Ph.D from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He has taught at various institutions such as McGill University in Montreal, University of Geneva, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, International University of Japan, Cornell University, Renmin University, Beijing and IIM Ahmedabad (IIMA).     Professor Chandra has served as member of the Government of India Committee on Clusters for Development of the Informal Sector. He was a member of the two High Powered Committees - the Government of India Committee on Rejuvenation of Higher Education (Yashpal Committee) that relooked at the Indian Higher Education system as well as the Committee on the Autonomy of Central Institutions. He was a member of two Steering Committees constituted by the Planning Commission of India for 12th Plan Development, one on Higher & Technical Education (where he also chaired the Sub-Committee on Student Financial Aid), and the other on Industry. He was a member of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) subcommittee on Teacher Education. Until recently, he was also a member of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

    Professor Chandra’s research and teaching interests include Manufacturing Management, Supply Chain Coordination, Building Technological Capabilities, higher education policy, and hi-tech entrepreneurship. He has published extensively in international refereed journals and has served on the editorial boards of several international journals. His forthcoming book studies issues of Governance, Change & Institution Building in Indian Universities. He has been conducting the national survey on Competitiveness of Indian Manufacturing since the last 20 years.

    In September 2014, Dr. Deike was named as Drexel University’s Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Success, a new division created to better align Drexel’s administrative structure as part of the University’s commitment to supporting Drexel students to be successful and graduate.

    Dr. Deike has a long track record of service to higher education including national committees such as the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s Commission on the Use of Standardized Tests in Undergraduate Admission and the College Board’s Task Force on Admissions in the 21st Century.
