Global higher education opportunities are opening up for your students, even during these complex and challenging circumstances. Many more international students are now considering a diverse range of emerging and established universities across various higher education systems. How can you help your students find world-class, right-match higher ed options across borders? This interactive session will feature a panel of admissions leaders, representing universities from several different review models. Experts will compare and contrast options, admissions policies, procedures, and practices across a range of higher ed systems & institutions, focusing on the U.S. and U.K, and expanding from there. We will also explore the rise of hybrid approaches found in other countries.

In his role at the College Board, CLAY HENSLEY supports the international engagement of higher ed institutions globally. Clay presents frequently on issues impacting international education and student mobility. Clay was awarded the annual Distinguished Service Award by the International Association for College Admissions Counseling (International ACAC, formerly OACAC) in 2013. Prior to joining the College Board, he taught English literature and studio art at Serramonte del Rey High School in Daly City, California. He also taught at the university level. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Vanderbilt University and an M.F.A. in painting from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Spanning a career over twenty years in education, Ruchika brings a wealth of varied experiences to university counseling. She has worked as Head of Education UK at the British Council and in the private sector where she managed an international education consultancy. After several years in senior management positions, she decided to return to her passion: counseling students and helping them realize their career dreams. She worked at Pathways School Gurgaon before joining The British School.

Dr. Kshitiza Singh, the Career and College Counselor at Hopetown Girls’ School, Dehradun, holds a Ph.D. in Economics and is certified by UCLA. She has over 20 years of experience as a Social Studies and Economics teacher, principal at a hotel management college, and founder-trainer at a beyond the classroom skills company. As part of her job, Dr. Singh visits faculty at universities and trains teachers at other schools. She is looking to pursue a career counseling movement to help the maximum number of people.

In August of 2018 she joined Enko Education as a Group University Admission Manager and has started building the program for 15 schools in 9 different African countries. Currently, her team consists of ten counselors, who work closely and eagerly develop their expertise daily. She has studied English language and literature at the Tbilisi State University with a degree in philology and pedagogy. Currently, is doing her Ph.D. studies in Economics. After many years of working in the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in 2007, she has joined a private school and served as the Head of the English Language Department and became the first IB DP coordinator and a college counselor of the first IBDP school in Georgia.

Daniel Marschner has worked at LMU since 2016 and received his Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on the cultural acclimation process for international students to the U.S. As a student, he participated in classes in Australia, Italy, and Nicaragua, and lived in Chile for two and a half years where he worked as a Jesuit Volunteer after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Xavier University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University. He enjoys meeting with students from around the world who want to learn more about LMU.

Kregg Strehorn is the Assistant Provost of Enrollment Management and International Recruitment at UMass Amherst. He received a BA from UC Berkeley, a MA from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Psychology from UMass Amherst. He is a Licensed Psychologist. Kregg has been with UMass Amherst for the past 19 years, and he took detour when he landed in the field of international admissions in 2012. Prior to joining the Cambridge Admissions Office, Roshan worked at Cambridge Assessment International Education enhancing the recognition of their international qualifications. Andrew Peters is the Director, New Business and Strategic Partnerships - International Student Recruitment and Admissions at Monash University. This role mainly focuses on identifying new market or program/project opportunities for Student Recruitment, nurtures and develops these opportunities in order to drive positive business outcomes. In addition to this role, , Andrew is also the Head of Diversification Markets for International Student Recruitment that covers the Universities recruitment interests across North America, Europe, Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Fiji, New Zealand, Philippines, Japan, South Africa and other non-traditional markets. Before joining the Education sector in 2015, Andrew worked for the Australian Trade Commissioner for well over 14 years as a Senior Export Adviser. Within this role, Andrew worked with helping new and existing exporters to not only conduct business in North America and Asia but also having an emphasis on creating export opportunities for Australian exporter community

Kim Zwitserloot works at University College Utrecht, the Netherlands, as a lecturer in economics, a tutor (academic advisor) and is also responsible for the international recruitment of students. She has studied and worked in Mexico and Venezuela and is an alumnus of Maastricht University.

Yvonne M. Romero da Silva serves as the Vice President for Enrollment at Rice University since 2017. Prior to joining Rice, Dr. Romero da Silva served as the Vice Dean and Director of Admissions at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2005 to 2012, she worked at the College Board as a corporate strategist and specialist in higher education enrollment services. From 1994 to 2002 she led minority recruitment initiatives at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Romero Da Silva has gained national attention for her successful strategic enrollment planning efforts and for the development of a new holistic evaluation process at UPenn. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In 2017, Romero da Silva earned her doctorate degree in higher education administration from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education.

Salisha is an alumna of Ryerson University and has been working in undergraduate student recruitment and admissions since 2009. She has extensive international recruitment experience in the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa. Born and raised in Caribbean, Salisha has immense appreciation for Canada, international education and its benefits. As a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) Latin America and Caribbean Regional Committee, Salisha continues to be an active voice in championing international education. She believes that education is a powerful tool - when an international student attends higher education in Canada (or another best fit destination), they enrich our academic classes, our cities and our countries. This workshop is essential for university representatives and administrators who want to ensure recruitment and admission practices are based on a sound and practical knowledge of the high school education landscape in India, especially in light of the rapid changes brought on by global pandemic. The interactive program will focus on ongoing learnings of post-COVID recruitment activities, credential evaluation, and the factors influencing student enrollment decisions for the Class of 2021 and beyond.
